About the Author

Kelley Merritt is a former journalist and elementary school teacher who grew up in Southern California and now lives in the Denver area. She splits her time between the mountains in Colorado, the desert cities near Palm Springs, and her favorite West Coast beaches. She continues to write stories about the many places that live in her heart.

A Friend on the Porch was inspired by a young boy who chose to embrace his humble beginnings and spent his life building memories that continue to make those who loved him proud.
